Courts slam Clark

Just months before he moved to purchase the Rochester Rhinos, Utica banker Rob Clark was so delinquent repaying a $100,000 loan to M&T Bank that his wages were garnished and he was cited for contempt of court.

In July 2007, an Oneida County Supreme Court justice ordered Clark to repay M&T Bank a $100,055.20 overdue loan, interest and fees for a total judgment of $101,894.69.

Clark still failed to make payments, which resulted in a judicial order to dock Clark's salary in August. Just a couple weeks later, the court issued a notice to garnishee Clark's wages at Adirondack Bank, where he serves as a vice president.

By October, Clark was still recalcitrant and failing to fulfill the payment judgment. On Oct. 29, he was cited for contempt of court and fined $870 for failing to responded to a plaintiff subpoena.

However, just six week later, Clark suddenly paid the overdue bill and satisfied the court's judgment on Dec. 3.

Just three months later, Clark emerged to purchase the Rhinos. But if he can't repay a $100,000 loan without being slapped for contempt of court and having his wages garnished, how can he support a pro soccer team?

But that's not the only time in the last year that Clark has been slammed by the legal system. In September 2007, the Utica City Court ordered Clark pay Keybank $15,819.16 for an overdue loan, interest and fees.

What does all that tell us?

  • What that tells us, dear boy, is that you are doing your homework/roadwork better than the suppposed "news" guys at Exchange & Broad Streets.
This amazes me, as you are a guy with a regular job, snooping, reporting, blogging as basically, a hobby. In the meantime, the "professionals" at Gannett; well, we know what they're NOT doing.
Keep up the GREAT work, you Stud!
And you might as well dig deeper for Donner, you know you're the only one working on anything now.

  • DiVeronica is too worried about his radio show, when his next free pizza from Soccer Sam is coming, his hair, trying to grow thicker skin, where his 401k plan...oops, there is no 401k at Gannett.

Please, those fools at the fish wrap don't even know how to use Google...they are all chasing Matthews down to Nathaniel's Pub.

  • Ryan's good at digging through paperwork, but not so great at finding the truth. Did you bother calling Clark for his side of the story?

He answered this criticism on Devo's blog.

  • Ryan, you're being ripped in the comments on DiVeronica's blog. How do you respond?
