DuRoss, Donner ordered to pay up
It looks like the misery has officially begun for Frank DuRoss, Steve Donner and Chris Economides.
Earlier this week, Monroe County Supreme Court Justice Kenneth R. Fisher ordered Rochester Rhinos Stadium LLC to pay LeChase Construction a total of $633,865.12.
That's the $580,138.27 overdue bill LeChase sued Rochester Rhinos Stadium LLC for, plus interest and legal fees. Now the owners of Rochester Rhinos Stadium LLC — DuRoss, Donner and Economides — somehow gotta scrape up more than $630,000 to pay the people who built their albatross, PAETEC Park.
Fisher's judgment was entered this past Monday in response to a request for summary judgment by LeChase, which had sued Rochester Rhinos Stadium LLC last month.
This might set a legal precedent for all the other local companies suing Rochester Rhinos Stadium LLC for overdue bills, because now all the other companies who have either already sued DDE or been stiffed by them will legally be able to go after DDE, not Rob Clark, for their cash.
So does this mean that Clark is now legally off the hook for all those overdue bills?
But an even bigger question: Where do DDE find that kind of money? Or, more importantly, where does DONNER find that kind of money, and quick? Maybe if he owned another large asset and source of revenue that he could draw from ...
Oh wait, he already has that! So what does this mean for the Amerks and Knighthawks? Hey, the "imminent arrival" of that new Amerks investor is timed PERFECTLY!

When Duross sold his AHL franchise a few years back he got around 3 million, I am not sure about the % for SD, Turek and Latona, but if this new guy is going to be majority owner, he is invesying 2-2.5 million mabey 3 at the most given the Amerks may be worth a little moran than the Providence Bruins that FDR sold. Plus you figure in the Khawks, so maybe SD get another million or so, idk.
When you divide that $ from the Amerks up 3 ways, SD is not going to get that much, he will get enough to pay off his %of the locals, but what about the millions to the bank for PTP? If a judge ruled that Lachase get $, why would a judge not rule in favor of the bank as well? Also, why did the Lachase ruling come before others who filed first? Was it because it is for more $$?
All this is not over by a long shot, stay tuned. In the end, I think SD will not run the day 2 day of the Amerks and KHawks. Public outcry will(should become too stong and the new owner will not want all this negative publicity so soon in his ownership.

what about the $800,000 or so owed to the City for the Amerks? Do you think Duffy/Richards will even think of giving him a new lease at the BCA if that isn't paid off first?

Just read in the D&C today that Donner only owns 40% of the Amerks so a buyout of Latona and Turek would give the new owner 60% and Donner would only get $$ from the K Hawks part of the sale. That is if he keeps all his 40% of the Amerks. So it looks like Donner might not get as much $$ as first thought.

Donner has said repeatedly he's not selling his share of the Amerks/Knighthawks.
So how does he come up with these large sums of money he's going to be forced to pay over the next year? By skimming off the Amerks/Knighthawks books?

From Channel 10 news:
Potential new majority owner for Amerks, Knighthawks identified
This morning a professional lacrosse magazine has news affecting two Rochester teams. The NLL reports that Curt Styres is the Canadian businessman interested in buying both the Rochester Amerks and Knighthawks. The deal is still not finalized.
Styres is a financial backer of the Six Nations Iroquois lacrosse and hockey clubs in Canada. Our calls to Amerks CEO Steve Donner last night were not returned.
NO? He didn't return a call?

But Kevin Oklobzija got a no-comment from him on Thursday night. Looks like Channel 10 was late on a copuple of counts. And you, Ryan, broke it first in Rochester. Way to go.

Let us not forget that if any of the rumors are true that SD ex wife is first in line for any of the funds from a sale I really wonder the $$ will come to pay off these debts.
